Digital Literacy

Digital literacy is a foundational element of success in today’s technology-driven world. Regardless of an individual’s educational goals, career pursuits, or job function, having a secure grasp of today’s digital technologies that drive much of the world is critical.

San Diego Futures Foundation (SDFF) remains committed to closing the “Digital Divide” by providing opportunities for nonprofit organizations and disadvantaged individuals to gain access to technology and technical training.

Digital Literacy for All Ages

Our digital literacy classes for all ages teaches Microsoft Office tools, Email and Social Media best practices. All individuals taking the class would need to have basic digital literacy skills.

We offer two tracks:

Beginner Classes$25
The content of these classes will include the following proficiencies:

  • Introduction to PC’s
  • Introduction to Microsoft Office
  • Microsoft Word
  • Email
  • Searching Online Resources
  • Social Media
  • YouTube
  • PC practice

Intermediate Classes$25
The content of these classes will include the following proficiencies:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Electronic Collaboration
  • The Cloud
  • Personal Branding
  • Digital Profile
  • Internet Safety

Digital Literacy for the General Public

Class Information:
Students will experience 2 hour classes for 4 total classes (8 hours of instruction). Classes are currently offered in English. Students will receive an SDFF certificate upon successfully completing the program. Classes will have a $25 fee that is Non-Refundable. No child care will be provided.

Digital Literacy for 62+

Take free digital literacy classes designed for seniors 62+. After taking our class and/or attending our workshops you’ll learn and enhance your computer skills. Classes are free, we do not charge any fees.

We offer two tracks:

Basic Computer Class
(4 weeks, twice a week, 2 hours each day)

In class you will learn about computers, file management, email, internet basics and more.

Intermediate Computer Class
(2 weeks, twice a week, 2 hours each day)

In class you will learn about cybersecurity/online safety, we’ll give you tools and resources to help you stay safe online.
