COMPUTER DONATIONS > COMPUTER DONATION GUIDELINES

1. Please read the following criteria required to qualify for a donation of computer hardware from the San Diego Futures Foundation.

2. Recipients must be nonprofits or other social service agencies based in San Diego, providing services primarily to San Diego residents. Priority is given to organizations, nonprofits and public agencies that support the County of San Diego's Strategic Initiative (PDF). This initiative targets Youth, Safe and Livable Communities, and the Environment.

3. SDFF is not accepting applications directly from schools. Our policy is to donate to schools exclusively through our partnership with AFCEA and San Diego City School's School-to-Career program. If your school needs computers, please contact your district office or refer them to SDFF for special consideration.

4. Individuals may receive donations as part of a program sponsored by a nonprofit or government agency. San Diego Futures Foundation does not otherwise donate computers to individuals.

5. Donations are generally limited to 15 computers or less, per organization, per year.

6. Unless otherwise specified through MOUs or contracts, all requests for PC donations must be made through the online form.

7. Our ability to provide hardware and software is dependent on availability. Completing an application does not guarantee that you will receive any or all of the equipment that you are requesting.

8. In most cases, our minimum donation includes refurbished PCs with 17" monitors, keyboards, mice, power cords, and Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP Professional.

9. If selected, you may be required to sign agreements that indicate you will not sell or otherwise transfer the equipment for a specified period of time. All recipients are required to sign license agreements limiting the sale or transfer of the operating systems, if a Microsoft operating system is installed.

10. If selected, SDFF may ask you to provide more information about your organization before the final decision is made to donate. The request may include information such as your 501(c)3 status, history, demographics, and referrals.

11. Requests may take six to eight weeks to process once the decision to donate has been made.

12. Once your equipment is ready, you will have five (5) days to pick it up. SDFF may require that you take delivery of the monitors separately from the CPUs. If you are unable to pick up the PCs, they may be reallocated to another organization and your donation will be postponed until additional units are available.

I have read the donation guidelines and would like to complete the Donation Request
