BUILDING FUTURES 2010 CAMPAIGN

The San Diego Futures Foundation (SDFF) is celebrating 10 years of success in closing the digital divide in San Diego County. SDFF’s most well-known achievement is the distribution of over 24,000 computers. Through partnerships and collaborations, SDFF has refurbished out-dated computers, adding new operating systems and software. SDFF distributes the computers to nonprofit organizations and low income families for a second productive life. Through training and education programs, increased access to technology, and quality services, SDFF has improved the lives of thousands of families, as well as the services of vital community organizations. Our work is essential to help people on the wrong side of the digital divide. SDFF needs your help to continue to offer services for people to become connected, gain skills and survive in an increasingly technological economy.

The annual Building Futures Campaign provides comprehensive support to SDFF’s mission and activities. Building Futures ensures SDFF’s programs are responsive to the community’s needs and provide long-term value. Building Futures has launched many of SDFF’s most innovative and effective programs, including: eLearn2Earn, an on-line afterschool program for middle school youth, the San Diego Broadband Initiative, a collaboration to improve educational and economic outcomes for 2,500 low income families, and a technology-based internship program for high school youth. By extending technology and its benefits to disadvantaged communities, SDFF is building solid foundations for individuals’ success in school and the workplace.
